Purpose
The risk evaluation matrix (REM) is used to carry out a subjective assessment of the risk posed to the safe operation of the railway from earthworks subject to examinations, in line with NR/L3/CIV/065.
A REM score is recorded against an earthwork inspection 5 chain.
