scope:

Purpose: This issuance, in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5124.02:

• Implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides direction for defense medical logistics (DML) strategies and programs pursuant to DoDD 6000.12E, DoDD 6200.04, and DoDD 5101.09E.

• Establishes the Defense Medical Materiel Standardization Program (DMMSP).

• Establishes the Defense Medical Logistics Proponent Committee (DMLPC).

APPLICABILITY. This issuance applies to OSD, the Military Departments, the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the DoD (referred to collectively in this issuance as the "DoD Components").
