The standard, in addition to standards relating to barrier-free construction and other regulations, demonstrates the opportunities presented by conveying technology to reduce or remove barriers, increase safety and improve comfort. The standard takes into account each user's individuality.

This standard deals with demands and potential solutions for properties (building categories and real estate) in terms of conveying technology and how it can be meaningfully combined with other types of technical installations within buildings.

The standard is aimed at the following target groups:

• architects and engineers

• contractors

• consulting offices (e.g. home adaptation)

• welfare organisations and charitable institutions

• municipal and national building authorities and their respective subsidiary organisations

• house-builders and investors

• the housing industry

• affected individuals and their families

• training and education institutions

• sponsors of technical measures in line with the Social Security Code (Sozialgesetzbuch - SGB)
