This modular provides electrical safety requirements for persons working on or near to 3rd rail d.c. electrified lines in the Liverpool area that will enable them carry out their duties without risk of danger from the conductor rail to themselves or other persons Further requirements are contained in the Rule Book Module DC (GE/RT8000/DC

Purpose

This module updates previously published instructions for 3rd rail d.c. electrified lines in the Liverpool area to:

  • enable use of equipment for delivering conductor rail isolations more safely and more rapidly and
  • incorporate previously authorised changes that were published separately as Letters of Instruction and
  • present them in an approved format that clarifies where variation may be permitted
