This standard defines specifications for the conducting of a hazard analysis including site inspection for drinking water supply systems, event-based according to Section 16 Subsection 7 TrinkwV. It can also be applied to investigations for identifying the cause of other deviations according to Section 16 Subsection 3 of the TrinkwV. Furthermore, a system-based hazard analysis can be conducted.
Personal, individual health protection requirements, e.g. due to specific health impairments, are not included in the hazard analysis. A deficiency as defined by this standard is any hygiene-relevant deviation from the pertinent generally acknowledged rules of technology. References made below to the generally acknowledged rules of technology to be observed focus on the purpose as per Section 1 TrinkwV, i.e. the protection of human health from the adverse effects resulting from water contamination.
