The materials covered by this specification are non-aqueous cleaners that are free of hazardous air pollutants and available in a low VOC (no more than 25 grams per liter) and high VOC types. The cleaners are intended for cleaning metallic, polymeric, and fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite materials and the adhesives and cores used in fabrication of advanced PMC-based aircraft structure. The cleaners are suitable for cleaning light soils, such as oils and hydraulic fluids, and heavy soils such as greases. Uses include cleaning of aircraft components and ground support equipment. The cleaner may be suitable for other cleaning applications.
