Purpose of This Order. This order defines requirements and responsibilities for submitting aeronautical data to Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) AN-5 in suppo11 ofthe National Airspace System (NAS). This order includes the following:
a. Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs)
b. Conununication Facilities; e.g., Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC); Depa11ment of Defense (DoD) A TCT and Approach Control Facilities
c. Tenninal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) faci lities, Airport Traffic Control Towers (ATCT)
d. Aviation Weather Systems; e.g., Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) and Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS)
e. Flight Service Stations (FSS)
f. Civil and military Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR), Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR), Precision Approach Radar (PAR) ยท
g. Visual guidance lighting systems
h. Non-regulated Air Traffic Service (ATS) airways
i. Miscellaneous Activity Areas (MAA); e.g., Parachute Jumping Areas (PJA), Aerobatic Practice Areas (APA), Glider-Hang Glider-Ultralight, and Space Launch Activity (SLA)

k. North American Routes (NAR)
