The module details requirements for the following features of the OCS basic design ranges:
• Management of drawings;
• Requirements for new drawings to be added to a range;
• Review and acceptance process;
• Interdependency with the product acceptance process and the Interim Statement of Verification (ISV);
• Roles and responsibilities;
• Process for assurance.
This module is applicable to all OCS Designers.
Purpose
This module specifies the requirements and processes involved in the creation and management of Overhead Contact System (OCS) basic design ranges to meet legislative requirements and to achieve safety, economy and performance when developing the principal features of an OCS.
This module provides a common strategy to demonstrate compliance and optimise the design of railway subsystems, but is not intended to reiterate legislation and governing standards.
