Purpose of This Notice.
This notice provides guidance about the approval and limits of a U.S.-based European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-145 authorization. Each U.S.-based Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 145 repair station that also holds an EASA Part-145 certificate under the terms of the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) and wants to work on parts installed on Sukhoi Superjet aircraft (SSJ100) has to apply to their overseeing Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in writing, detailing their need and the part numbers that cannot be issued a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Form 8130-3, Authorized Release Certificate, Airworthiness Approval Tag. The repair station must provide evidence that they hold current applicable maintenance data for these parts.
