Limits relating to the influence of electric power supply and traction systems on telecommunicatie systems

pending, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 January 2001
Status: pending
Page Count: 16
ICS Code (Electromagnetic compatibility in general): 33.100.01
ICS Code (Transmission systems): 33.040.20
scope:

This European Standard gives the criteria defining situations to be examined, and limits applicable to the electromagnetic influence of the following power systems from 0 kHz to 9 kHz on telecommunication systems: - AC power supply systems; - DC power supply systems; - AC traction systems; - DC traction systems, resulting from the following physical mechanisms: - inductive coupling; - conductive coupling; - capacitive coupling, for different power system conditions: - normal; - fault . It covers the resulting effects of - danger to people, - damage to the system, - disturbance to the system (malfunction, noise). This European Standard is applicable to all telecommunication lines with metallic elements. Fibre optic cables are considered only if a metal conductor, screen, or sheath is included in their construction. The objective of this European Standard is to establish appropriate limits for the voltages and/or currents generated in a telecommunications system by one or more power systems. - This European Standard is applicable to all situations where private or public telecommunication systems are liable to be influenced by one or more power systems. - This European Standard is applicable to new telecommunication and power systems and also to existing systems where alterations are proposed, or have been made, which will significantly increase the existing levels of electromagnetic interference. - This European Standard shall be used in the determination of the types of coupling which shall be considered for various power system operating conditions, and the comparison of measured and predicted disturbance levels with the limits given in Clause 4. - This European Standard does not apply to coupling from power systems with a nominal operating voltage below 1 kV.
