This Recommendation relates to push-button switches for use in equipment for telecommunications and in other equipment using similar techniques. Push-button switches are classified under the following applications: a) Commercial application. b) General application. c) Special application. Switches covered by this Recommendation have a rated voltage not exceeding 500 V and a rated current not exceeding 25 A. Switches for connecting to the supply mains, where the recommendations of IEC Publication 65, Safety Requirements for Mains Operated Electronic and Related Equipment for Domestic and Similar General Use, may apply, and for a.c. or d.c. use (or both), are included.
