The object of this standard is to specify the performance requirements for sound measurement and analysis equipment to be used for aircraft noise certification using the procedure described in the International Standard ISO 3891 for measurements requiring spectral analysis as a function of time. It is intended to ensure that results obtained by various noise certification authorities using different sets of equipment are mutually comparable.
