This standard specifies the data model, to be used above the Application Layer by the interface between the Customer Energy Manager (CEM) and the mappings. The scope of the standard covers: - Technology independent data structure to be used to exchange information over interface II - Compliance of the data structure described in XSDs (XML schema Definitions) - This standard applies for public or privat building / Home, industrial areas are excluded. The following is outside the scope of this standard: - The interface I between the smart grid and the CEM (covered by other standards in the 50491 series); - The mapping to different equipment - Data Security; - Safety and EMC (covered by other parts of EN 50491 series); - Special equipment (e.g. legacy heat pumps) with a direct physical connection to the grid, as such equipment bypasses the CEM and is not HBES/BACS enabled.
