NEN 10184

Methods for specifying the characteristics of electro-mechanical transducers for shock and vibration measurements

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 April 1989
Status: inactive
ICS Code (Vibrations, shock and vibration measurements): 17.160
ICS Code (Rectifiers. Converters. Stabilized power supply): 29.200
scope:

This Recommendation provides specifications for the presentation of information about the characteristics of electro-mechanical vibration and shock transducers (pick-ups) the electrical outputs of which are known functions of the uniaxial, multiaxial or angular accelerations, velocities or displacements of objects whose motions are being measured. This Recommendation gives methods of specifying the important characteristics of shock and vibration transducers. It is intended as a guide to instrument manufactures for indicating the characteristics of their transducers and as a help to users in selecting a particular type of transducer or preparing performance specification. The accuracy of the information provided depends on environmental effects such as temperature, on design characteristics such as natural frequency and on inherent factors such as mass. The Recommendation is intended to ensure that the user receives an adequate description of the characteristics of any particular transducer.
