In this standard the requirements are stated with which measurement and calibration systems should comply. A number of specific terms in the field of measurement and calibration is defined in this standard. With the exception of clause 4.2, this standard shall be applied in connection with the standards concerning quality assurance: NEN 2646, NEN 2647 and NEN 2648. Furthermore, reference to this standard can be made in a contract, an order or a specification and the standard can serve as a basis for: - accreditation of measurement and calibration systems by an authorized organisation; - review by the supplier of his own measurement and calibration system, whether or not preceding the above mentioned applications.
