This standard contains definitions and general regulations with respect to the construction, characteristics and testing of rotating machines. This standard applies to all rotating machines with the exception of tose which are governed by other Netherlands standards, such as NEN 10349. In addition it is possible that machines which lie within the scope of this standard, also have to comply with standards which have replacing, varying and additional requirements, such as NEN 3125; NEN-EN 50014 to NEN-EN 50020 inclusive, NEN-EN 50039, NEN 10092-301 and NEN 10092-501
