This standard deals with acoustic and optical signals, and indications, used in connection with the safety of passengers, crew, ship and her installations. These acoustic and optical signals, and indications, shall be selected and installed so as to ensure an unambiguous interpretation under all conditions. This standard is not intended to be used in connection with acoustic and optical signals from ship to ship to shore, for navigational purposes.
