This recommendation applies to all types of solid organic and inorganic cylindrical scintillators used in scintillation counting and spectrometry. To standardize dimensions of the bare scintillators in order to facilitate interchangeability of unencapsulated scintillators and to facilitate intercomparisons of measurements with encapsulated scintillators.
