This European Standard sets out a method of hazard indentification for woodworking machines and tools destined for processing wood and similar materials. It includes common design requirements for the elimination of hazards and design measures that shall be taken to minimise those hazards which it is not possible to eliminate. This European standard does not apply to hand-held woodworking machines or any adaption permitting their use in a different mode e.g. bench mounting. This European standard does not apply to plant and equipment used for spraying, lacquering or varnishing. The hazards covered by this standard are listed in clause 4. This standard is primarily directed to machines which are manufactured after the date of issue of this standard.
