scope:
This code of practice gives directions for constructive and technical solutions that can be applied with respect to installations in domestic facilities to meet the requirements -if properly and correctly applied- concerning the maximum allowable noise levels caused by installations mentioned in NEN 1070. This code of practice exclusively concerns mechanical air-discharge systems for so-called wet spaces, called system C in its simplest form in NEN 1087, where air is removed by means of a motor-driven ventilator through a system of channels in a single house or in a number of houses in a domestic building from one or more of the following spaces: toilet space, bathroom, washing and drying space, kitchen. In addition to directions with regard to the reduction of the noise levels resulting from the air-discharge system, directions are also given to prevent a reduction of the sound insulation between rooms as a result of the air-discharge system. This code of practice applies to domestic facilities with mechanical air-discharge systems, which have to meet the requirements of NEN 1070 with respect to the noise made by installations.
