This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of power transformers within installations concerned with the generation of electrical power. The object of this guide is to make an intending Purchaser aware of options and alternatives which he may wish to consider, and to enable him to state the requirements in a comprehensive manner to potential Suppliers with the object of achieving an integrated power installation ensuring compatibility with contracts for other plant items and fully meeting the requirements of European legislation designed to promote the Single Market. This standard applies to all sizes of oil immersed single-phase and 3-phase transformers including other appropriate equipment: - Generator step up transformers - Start up transformers - Auxiliary power transformers - Dry type transformers.
