scope:

Specifies the technical requirements, the appropriate dimensions and the requirements for testing. This standard applies to castors for general furniture applications, but specifically excludes those for swivel chairs and other specialised applications. (Essentially EN 12528 and ISO 22883 are identical albeit it with minor differences in the test criteria included - detailed below: EN 12528 Clause 5.3.3 (p9)Tolerances are included in BS EN 12532 but in ISO 22883 are not included but included in ISO 22878 instead and being the same . Clause 5.9.3 (911) Tolerance is allowed on the Load capacity whereas in ISO 2283 clause 5.10.3 this is not included. ISO 22883 Clause 5.7.2 (p15) tolerance include allowance depending upon the tread hardness - in BS EN 12532 the same criteria in clause 5.6 & clause 4.7 of BS EN 12527 does not consider tread hardness).
