These recommendations state the methods of test to be used for determining the characteristics of high-pressure mercury vapour lamps with or without a red correcting fluorescent coating, operating on a.c. mains with a ballast satisfying the requirements of IEC Publication 262: Ballasts for High Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamps. These requirements relate only to type testing. Details of maximum lamp outlines are also included for guidance in luminaire designs.
