Air quality - Workplace atmosphere - Standard practice for the determination of toxic vapours or gases by active sorbent tube sampling, liquid desorption and gas chromatography

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 February 1990
Status: inactive
Page Count: 12
ICS Code (Workplace atmospheres): 13.040.30
scope:

This pre-standard describes a general method to determine the concentration of toxic vapours and gases in workplace atmosphere, using active sorbent tube sampling, liquid desorption and gas chromatography. The pre-standard applies to the determination of toxic vapours and gases in workplace atmosphere, using a sorbent tube containing an adsorbent suitable for the matter concerned. Desorption of the adsorbent matter takes place with a suitable liquid. Usually active carbon is used as an adsorbent and carbondisulphide (CS2 for desorption. However different combinations of adsorbent and desorption liquid are also possible, provided that they are suitable for the matter in question.
