scope:

This standard gives guidelines for material thicknesses and the requirements to be applied for inspection approval of coverings of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for un-armoured and armoured lead cables, either as an outher sheath or as an intermediate layer for corrosion protection. This standard is not valid as regards cable types of which the requirements for the PVC covering is completely specified in another Netherlands standard. In this standard, the guidelines in NEN 15002 art. 16 and in NEN 15013 art. 19, to which a few testshave been added, are followed for the testing. The thickness measurements determined for these coverings are considered suitable forgeneral application. In special circumstances deviations from these thicknesses are permitted. Coverings of tape are not considered to be coverings within the meaning of this standard.
