This standard stipulates the quality requirements for the application of paint systems, powder coatings and plastic coatings on hot dip galvanized products in a controlled industrial process. If a good end result is to be achieved, the following aspects must be controllable: - construction and composition of materials; - zinc layer and zinc surface; - pretreatment of the zinc surface; - organic coating system; - application of organic coating system; - control of coating system. The standard is applicable to discontinuous hot dip galvanized products, galvanized in accordance with EN-ISO 1461 and EN 10240, as well as products fabricated from continuously galvanized sheet galvanized in accordance with ISO 4998, which after galvanization and/or assembly are given an organic coating.
