This part of ISO 4548 specifies a method of testing full-flow lubricating oil filters for internal combustion engines to determine their ability to withstand a static pressure objective at high and cold temperature and to determine their burst pressure and the failure mode concerned. It shall apply to all kind of oil filters, as well spin on cartridges as temperature sensitive materials. It shall as well apply to new filters and filters returned from field back from endurance tests.
