This Standard covers a range of rectangular miniature plug and socket connectors with high density contact arrangement having a contact spacing of 1,27 mm (0,05 in.). They are intended for use with printed wiring boards using a basic grid of 2,54 mm (0,01 in) as laid down in IEC Publication 97, Grid System for Printed Circuits. The connectors are provided with either solder type termination or dip solder termination or solderless termination of the wrap type. Polarization is achieved by an asymmetrical shell. This standard is intended to be used in conjunction with IEC Publication 130-1.
