scope:
Specifies a method for assessing the burning behaviour, spread of flame and the smoke development of horizontally mounted floor covering systems exposed to a radiant heat gradient in a test chamber, when ignited with a pilot flame. Annex A gives details of assessing the smoke development, when required. This method is applicable to all types of flooring e.g. textile carpet, cork, wood, rubber and plastics coverings as wel as coatings.
