This standard is applicable to connectors particularly designed for use with printed boards in equipment for telecommunications and in electronic devices employing similar techniques. This is a generic specification and shall be used in conjunction with the basic standard: IEC Publication 512: Electromechanical Components for Electronic Equipment; Basic Testing Procedures and Measuring Methods, and with the relevant detail specifications. Connectors essentially designed for use at frequencies exceeding 3 MHz are not covered.
