scope:
Specifies safety and performance requirements for equipment intended for oro-pharyngeal suction to establish and maintain the patency of the airway. Covers equipment operated by foot or by hand or both. Non-electrical suction equipment which may be integrated with electrical equipment is within the scope. Annexes A to C give test methods, a table of typical range of volumes for collection containers for specific uses, and a rational statement.
