This standard gives the requirements and methods for the testing of round drawn steel wire of the tensile grades, 1570, 1770 and 1960 and for ropes manufactured from it still in unused condition.This standard is applicable to steel ropes. Ropes to which special conditions apply, are excluded. The specific data of the steel ropes covered in this standard are listed in the rope tables of standards NEN 2500, NEN 3231 and NEN 3232. For the above mentioned applications and for applications not mentioned, it may be agreed between the parties that NEN 3560 should still be declared applicable.
