This standard is applicable to wire wrapped terminations of miniature equipment wires with solid conductor. Two types of equipment wires are considered: Type A - for use with hand-held and semi-automatic machines. Type B - for use with fully automatic machines. The object of this standard is to detail the additional requirements for low-frequency miniature equipment wires when used for wire wrapped terminations. With the exception of equipment wires insulated with wrapped polyethylene terephthalate, the wire specified in this standard shall meet the requirements of IEC 189-3 or 673.
