Contains the safety requirements to plants for the manufacture of flat and bent mirrors in wet chemical process. It applies to the complete coating process which is executed on the following plant components - designated all together 'coating plant': - cleaning; - wet-chemical application; - drying; - coating with lacquer. In a mirror coating plant, some plant components are available repeatedly and designed in rows one after the other. Individual plant components can be operated manually, semi-automatically or full-automatically. This standard deals with all significant hazards pertinent to mirror coating plants, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer. This standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of approval of the standard by CEN.
