scope:

This standard gives a method to determine the amounts of chloride, carbon dioxide and alkali in cement. It specifies the reference method, and in some cases, an alternative method which is supposed to yield equal results. If different methods are used it must be proved that the results thus obtained are equal to those obtained by the refernce method. In case of disputes the results obtained by the reference method are normative. This standard applies to cements as well as to their constituents, such as clinker and blastfurnace slag.
