Measuring methods for determination of the electrical properties of microwave tubes - Part 2: General measuring methods

active, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 31 May 1978
Status: active
Page Count: 76
ICS Code (Electronic tubes): 31.100
scope:

Gives general requirements and precautions which apply when making measurements of the electrical properties of microwave tubes. It deals also with general methods of measurement for all devices for oscillator devices and for amplifier tubes. The first supplement gives methods for measurement of noise, made on microwave tubes of the oscillator or amplifier type, to assess the contribution of the tube to the perormance degradation of the aplication system, arising from noise. The second supplement covers general measurements for all devices and for oscillator devices concerning pulse characteristics, pulse jitter, power hysteresis. The third supplement deals with microwaves leakage from integral circuit electronic tubes, and harmonic and spurious output power. The fourth supplement deals with the measurements of noise in continuous wave and pulsed microwave amplifiers using a microwave phase discriminator. The fifth supplement gives terms, definitions, basic theory and recommended methods of measurement of the effects of non-linearity in electronic tubes. Although primarily intended for electronic tubes, this publication also applies to other electronic devices.
