This standard relates to directly heated thermistors, insulated and non-insulated types, with negative temperature coefficients (NTC-D). The object of this standard is to establish uniform requirements for judging the electrical, mechanical and climatic properties of NTC-D thermistors and to describe test methods as well as to give preferred values of rated zero-power resistance, tolerances, maximum power rating and classification into categories according to their ability to withstand conditions as specified in IEC Publication 68.
