This standard specifies the electrical, marking and safety characteristics of a circuit for an external electrical input to a personal hearing aid in order to ensure compatibility with external electrical or electroacoustic signal sources. This standard does not cover the interconnection of the parts of a Cros (contralateral ro uting of signals) or Bi-Cros hearing aid, when designed as a complete system. Throughout this standard all sound pressure levels (abbreviated SPL) are referred to 20 µ Pa.
