This standard applies to electrically operated food preparation machines for household use. The purpose of this standard is to state and define the principal performance characteristics of household electrical food preparation machines, which are of interest to the user and to describe the standard methods for measuring these characteristics. As the same appliance could fulfil one of several functions, it is therefore submitted to the tests corresponding to those functions where applicable. This standard is concerned neither with safety nor with performance requirements.
