This standard applies to electric coffee makers for household and similar use. The purpose of this standard is to state and define the principal performance characteristics for electric coffee makers, which are of interest to the user and to describe the standard methods for measuring these characteristics. The measuring methods of this standard are specified primarily with a view to coffee makers of the percolator and the filter type; they may, however, be used for coffee makers of other systems also, as far as this is reasonable.
