The standard specifies the requirements to be set and the appropriate test methods for containers (jerrycans) for petrol made of polyethylene, with a rated capacity of 5 litres. The containers are used for fuel (petrol) reserve in cars. The containers are not intended for outdoor storage or stacking. Keeping more than one jerrycan filled with petrol in the boot of the car is not recommended.
