Applies to fixed unencapsulated multilayer surface mounting capacitors of ceramic dielectric Class 1 and Class 2 with rated voltage normally not exceeding 200 V. These capacitors generally have terminations consisting of metallized connecting pads or solderable strips and are intended to be mounted directly onto substrates for hybrid circuits or onto printed boards. The object of this specification is to prescribe preferred ratings and characteristics and to select from the general specification EN 130000 the appropriate quality assessment procedures, tests and measuring methods and to give general performance requirements for this type of capacitor.
