Defines the general conditions for making thermogravimetric measurements on polymers and on polymer binder based material, used as products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures. Thermogravimetric data may be used to determine the internal temperature and rate of decomposition of polymers; at the same time, the amounts of volatiles, additives, and fillers can also be measured. This standard is applicable to polymers in the form of powders, to fabricated shapes reduced to appropriate particle size and to liquid plastics. The normal operating temperature range is from ambient temperature up to 600 or 800°C (depending on the apparatus).
