This standard of the standard gives specific hazards and safety requirements that shall be provided by the manufacturer for Vacuum Thermoprocessing Equipment, whether it is used as an independent unit or as an integrated part of a plant. This part of the standard does not cover the handling, storage, transport, disposal, transfer or regeneration of the processed material. This part applies not only to the normal operation of the equipment but also to the safety of personnel and property in the event of abnormal operation and when foreseeable faults occur. The equipment is covered by the scope of this part of EN 746 is given in Annex A.
