Specifies minimum performance and safety requirements for terminal units intended for use in non-flammable medical gas pipeline systems specified in ISO 7396 for use with the following medical gases: - oxygen; - nitrous oxide; - medical air; - nitrogen; - helium; - carbon dioxide; - specified mixtures of the above gases; - medical vacuum. It is intended especially to ensure the gas-specific assembly of terminal units and to prevent their interchange between different gases. This standard also specifies requirements for conversion and modification kits for use with terminal units in existing installations.
