This standard provides permissible deviations in dimension, surface and position. The standard also indicates possible corrective actions in case the permissible deviations are being exceeded and also directions for the design of inserts and the removal of all kinds of auxiliary assembling devices fastened to the structure. The standard is applicable to the construction of steel marine structures, regardless of the shipbuilding steel qualities used. Specific requirements for naval vessels where not considered when drafting the standard.
