scope:
Specifies the general requirements for central supply systems for an independent energy supply to essential safety equipment. In particular it covers permanently connected to a.c. supply voltages not exceeding 1000 V and that use as the alternative power source. The central power supplies are intended to energize essential safety equipment in the case of failure of the normal supply, for example; - emergency escape lighting - electrical circuits of automatic fire extinguishing installations - pageing systems and signalling safety installations - smoke extraction equipment - carbon monoxide warming systems - specific safety installations related to specific buildings e.g. high risk areas.
