scope:
The principle of the method is to break the test specimen, supported as a horizontal beam, by a single swing of a pendulum, with the line of impact midway between the supports. In the case of edgewise impact with notched specimens, the line of impact is directly opposite the single notch. The method is applicable to rigid thermoplastics moulding and extrusion materials, rigid thermosetting moulding materials, fibre-reinforced thermoset and thermoplastics composites.
