This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of fans, ducts and dampers associated with steam generating plant and flue gas treatment plant in the electrical power supply industry. This includes: Primary Air and Exhauster Fans; Secondary air, Forced and Induced Draught Fans; Flue Gas Recirculation and Booster Fans; Modulating Dampers and Shut-Off Dampers; Diverters and Inlet Guide Vanes; Lined and Unlined Ductwork; Insulation and Cladding. some of the provision may be applicable to steam generating plant for other applications. The equipment covered by this guide is related to its function rather than design type. Therefore the draught plant requirements are stated in performance terms rather than being specified by a detailed description of the equipment to be supplied.
