NEN-EN 780

Hexagon nuts for structural bolting with large width across flats, thick style - Product grade B - Property class 8 and 10

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 June 1995
Status: inactive
Page Count: 12
ICS Code (Nuts): 21.060.20
ICS Code (Steel structures): 91.080.13
scope:

This Standard gives specifications for large series hexagon, high-strength structural nuts of thick style with metric dimensions in property classes 8 and 10 and thread sizes from M12 up to and including M36 for use with high-strength structural bolts of property classes 8.8 and 10.9 respectively. If in special cases specifications other than those listed in this Standard are required, they should be selected from existing European or International Standards, for example ISO 261, EN 20898-2 and ISO 965. Nuts to this Standard when matched with the appropriate bolt to EN 781 have been designed to provide an assembly with a high degree of probability for failure by bolt breakage and not by thread stripping on overtightening.
